Work undertaken

7-9 Pond Lane, a pair of new build semi-detached flint cottages. A complicated site within a flood risk area. We installed a complete land drain system exiting to a nearby culvert. A Klargester treatment plant was utilised for dealing with waste water. The building itself is a highly efficient timber frame construction clad in Sussex flint. We won a Distinction in Building award from Worthing District Council for these properties.

Project features

"Following an enjoyable and successful visit by myself and my fellow panel members, I am delighted to inform you that 7 – 9 Pond Lane, Worthing is a winner of the Worthing Borough Council Distinction in Building Awards in the New Residential Development category. There were a remarkable number of high quality developments nominated and the competition was high, but after careful consideration and lively debate the Panel was particularly impressed with the sympathetic addition of two houses within the former curtilage of adjoining Listed Building. Whilst using flint panels, these were very difficult to detect even very close up to the building and overall the layout of the cottages and quality of design meant that the new development was able to relate very sympathetically to the existing flint cottages in Pond Lane. The attention to detail was evident in the use of flint work for the frontage wall and the design and siting of the ancillary outbuildings."
